A DJ course in Hong Kong that ends with you playing a set
Eight one-to-one lessons in a real booth in North Point — beatmatching by ear, not by sync button.
There is a difference between owning a controller and being able to play. This course is built around the second one: you learn to hear two tracks line up, to mix them without a train wreck, and to build a 20-minute set that holds a room.
- Where
- Room 1005A, Java Commercial Centre, 128 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong

- Languages
- English and Cantonese
What you will actually be able to do
- Beatmatch two tracks by ear, then confirm with the waveform
- Set gain and trim so the mix does not jump in volume
- Use EQ to swap basslines cleanly instead of slamming the crossfader
- Phrase a mix so it lands on the right bar, not mid-vocal
- Record a 20-minute set and hear your own mistakes back
- Prepare a set for a small room: reading a crowd, opening, peak, closing
Do you need your own equipment?
No. The studio has the booth, the controller and the monitors. If you already own a controller, bring it and we will set it up so what you practise at home matches what you learn here.
Who this is for
Adults who want a real skill rather than a hobby taster, and people who already play an instrument and want to understand how tracks are put together. No music-reading required. The only requirement is that you can commit to practising between lessons — 20 minutes a day is enough to hold progress.
After the 8 lessons
Continue with one-to-one mixing or arrangement coaching at HK$600 per lesson, or move sideways into composition and production if you want to make your own tracks rather than play other people's.
One-to-one lessons in North Point, by appointment. Trial lesson HK$200 / 30 min.
Questions people ask
How much is a DJ course in Hong Kong?
HK$4,800 for eight one-to-one lessons at K-D Studio in North Point. That works out at HK$600 per hour. A 30-minute DJ trial is HK$200.
Can I learn to DJ without any music background?
Yes. Beatmatching is a listening skill, not a notation skill. Students with no instrument experience often progress faster than expected because they have no habits to unlearn.
Is the course one-to-one or a class?
One-to-one. You get the booth and the teacher for the full hour.
Do you teach Serato or rekordbox?
Serato is the studio setup. If you use rekordbox at home, tell us at the trial and we will work in your format.
How long until I can play a set?
Most students can hold a clean 15–20 minute mix after 8 lessons with regular practice, which is the point of the course.
