NORTH POINT · ONE TO ONE
Acoustic one-to-one · North Point
Music first. Technique follows. Every lesson starts with your goals, your taste, and where you are now.
Every lesson is taught by Will.

How we teach
Lessons follow a clear system—posture and touch, then rhythm, technique, and improvisation—in order. The path is personalised to your level, the music you want, and the practice time you have. A short-term song and a longer path can sit side by side.
North Point studio (Studio location in North Point), one-to-one (or a self-formed group of 2–3). We listen to the music you want and the practice time you have, then set a monthly rhythm—exams only if you ask.
What you take away
- A lesson rhythm designed around your goals
- Technique and musical understanding you can hear and play
- Styles: pop, rock, folk, blues, fingerstyle, and more
- Notes and follow-up practice; materials at My Guitar Notes
What we cover
From foundations to advanced work, we choose the path from where you are—you do not cover everything at once.
Foundations
Posture and touch; alternate picking and basic strumming; open-position scales; open chords and simple songs.
Early intermediate
Movable scales and intervals; barre chords and rhythm patterns; pop / rock / blues / fingerstyle; improvisation basics.
Advanced
Symmetrical scales and modes; advanced techniques (harmonics, tapping, hybrid picking); arranging; recording basics as needed.
Exams
ABRSM, Trinity, LCM, Rockschool — only if that is your goal. No hard sell.

FAQ
FAQ
I’ve never played guitar or DJ. Where do I start?
Bring a few pieces of music you love. In the trial lesson, tell your teacher what you want; together you shape the path and pace. Exams are optional—not the point.
Do I need to bring a guitar or DJ controller?
Having your own instrument at home helps practice. You need not bring one to class—guitars are provided. You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. The same applies to a DJ controller: useful at home; not required in the studio. Unsure what to buy? Ask in your first trial lesson.
Are materials included?
Yes. Studio notes and online materials are provided as you progress, at no extra charge.
If I take an exam, do I need to buy books?
If you choose to sit an exam, please purchase the required official books yourself. Class materials are still provided as you go.
What about public holidays, red days, or weather?
We arrange case by case with your teacher.
Can I reschedule a lesson?
Each month we set the following month’s timetable in advance. One free reschedule is included per month.
